Meet Brenda

Meet Janelle's assistant for this year's Vacation Bible School, Brenda Parks. Brenda was born and raised in Texas, grew up in Northeast Houston and currently resides in Summerwood. Brenda is a stay at home mom. She and her husband of ten years, Kevin, have two boys, Alex and Matthew. They both attend the Weekday Learning Center at AUMC. The Parks joined AUMC in 2002. Brenda is aslo involved in the Women's Ministry and Sonshine Kids. Some of her hobbies include computers (she is a self-professed computer geek!), taking pictures, and blogging. Brenda is so excited to be a part of VBS!

Getting the "Beach Party" Started

Vacation Bible School is in full effect. The planning has begun. We had our first official meeting yesterday. We are so excited to get VBS off the ground. It is going to be a rocking beach party!! Thanks to Carrie DeLeon, Isabelle Ericson, Diane Go, Jennifer Ellis, Ms. Beth, and Billy McKinney who have all signed on to be head "lifeguards". Thanks to Diane West for also attending the meeting and giving us great ideas and input. We are so happy to have such awesome people on board to help us make this summer's VBS a big success! Janelle and I cannot wait to work with all of you. Don't worry if you were not able to attend the meeting. Our next meeting will be in March and we still need a ton of volunteers. There will be many ways that you can help out!! We have volunteer forms to fill out. Meet Janelle

Meet the Director of this year's Vacation Bible School, Janelle Wiggin. Janelle grew up in New England before moving to Humble. Janelle and her husband Chris, a pilot for Express Jet, have three beautiful girls. Mackenzie, attends Pine Forest Elementary and Kamdyn and Alyson both attend the Weekday Learning Center. Janelle is a teacher in the High Flyers class on MWF at the WLC. As if being a teacher and a mother of three isn't enough, Janelle also devotes her time to being a Girl Scout troop leader and the Nursery Director at AUMC. Some of her favorite things to do in her spare time are going to the gym to workout, and being with family and friends. Janelle looks forward to making this summer's VBS fun for everyone!!

There will be a Vacation Bible School table at the AUMC Fall Festival this Saturday, Sept. 22. Please stop by and see what is in store for VBS 2008!!

Our theme for VBS 2008 is Beach Party: Surfin' Through the Scriptures. How fun is that going to be? We are excited!! If you have any thoughts or ideas about our theme, please submit them to me, Brenda or Janelle. Thanks!

It's Official!

Janelle Wiggin and I (Brenda Parks) are the Director and Co-Director for VBS 2008 at AUMC. We are a little nervous. But we are up to the challenge. We hope that with your help our turn at the wheel will be a successful one. Stay tuned for any information about our next VBS adventure.
