It is beginning to look a lot like a beach party...

Janelle and I started decorating today. We started in the life center. It is beginning to look a lot like a beach party at AUMC!! We have a ton of decorations. This is just the start. Let us know what you think!

AUMC VBS & H.A.A.M.

Atascocita United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School will be collecting school supplies again this year during the weeek of VBS, June 23-27. We are helping Humble Area Assistance Ministries provide school supplies to children in schools in which 50 percent are from low-income families and need assistance. So, during the week of VBS please bring in crayons, pens, pencils, markers, map pencils, rulers, bottled glue, pocket folders, spiral notebooks, and or glue sticks. Every little bit will help! Thank you for helping us to help H.A.A.M. and kids in need!

20 days!!

VBS will be here in 20 short days!! Woo-hoo!! We are getting excited. I can hardly wait to decorate AUMC with all the fun Beach Party decorations we've collected!! It is going to be fun! Hope to see you all there!

Mark Your Calendar: VBS Volunteer Meeting!

Sunday, June 8, following the 11 a.m. church service we are going to have a Vacation Bible School volunteer meeting. We will hand out information you will need for the week of VBS, post volunteer duties and Ms. Beth will also be conducting Safe Sanctuary for anyone who has not been through the Safe Sanctuary process. We hope to answer any questions and concerns you might have at this time, too. It is time to get this Beach Party started!! Please try to attend. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Donation Boxes

We have placed 3 different donation boxes at AUMC for VBS. There are two in the main building and one in the Life Center building. You can help us by purchasing these items that will be used the week of Vacation Bible School. Just pull off a paper and return the items you purchase to the designated VBS Donations box! So, stop by and check it out. And again we thank for your continued support.

Ministry Moment

Look for us during all three church services on May 11. During Ministry Moment, Janelle and I will be talking about volunteer opportunities as well as ways you can register your child/children for VBS. Its going to be a Beach Party!!

AUMC Heart and Soul Fun Run 2008

Janelle and I would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us make this year's Fun Run such a success. We could not have done it without your love and support. Can I just say also that it truly was a "fun run"! I had so much fun. Not only did we have fun but, we also had fellowship, some true heart & soul, and gorgeous weather. Thank you for stopping by our Fun Run/VBS table at church on Sunday. We had several sign up to sponsor our Fun Run. Many who signed up to run in the Fun Run. And a few that stopped by to volunteer to help this summer during Vacation Bible School!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Janelle and I appreciate it so much!! There are still ways you can help out if you do not or can't participate in the Fun Run it self. We are in need of bottled water donations. As well as cut oranges or apples on the day of the Fun Run on April 12. If you have any questions or concerns please email Janelle or Brenda. Thanks again!

2nd Annual Heart & Soul 5k Fun Run

Atascocita United Methodist Church Children's Ministry is gearing up for Vacation Bible School. We will kick off our "Beach Party" with the Heart & Soul Fun Run. The Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at 8a.m. Corporate sponsorships start at $50 or family/Individual sponsorships are available at $25. All proceeds will go to support VBS. Entry forms and sponsorship forms are available now. You can find them posted throughout AUMC or you can contact Beth Johnson, Brenda Parks, or Janelle Wiggin for a form or any additional information you might need. March 30: VBS Ministry Moment

Janelle and I will be presenting a Vacation Bible School Ministry Moment during all 3 AUMC church services on March 30. Please look for us! We will also be placing volunteer forms out this week. Meet Brenda

Meet Janelle's assistant for this year's Vacation Bible School, Brenda Parks. Brenda was born and raised in Texas, grew up in Northeast Houston and currently resides in Summerwood. Brenda is a stay at home mom. She and her husband of ten years, Kevin, have two boys, Alex and Matthew. They both attend the Weekday Learning Center at AUMC. The Parks joined AUMC in 2002. Brenda is aslo involved in the Women's Ministry and Sonshine Kids. Some of her hobbies include computers (she is a self-professed computer geek!), taking pictures, and blogging. Brenda is so excited to be a part of VBS!
